Cork County Final Chess Competition 2020
Bhí lá iontach ag ár dá fhoireann fichille inné ag Craobhchomórtas Chorcaí a bhí ar siúl i Halla CLG Éire Óg sna hUaimheanna. Tháinig an fhoireann sinsir sa dara háit gan ach dhá phointe idir sinn agus na buaiteoirí: sár-iarracht ó gach éinne!
Both of our chess teams had a brilliant day at the Cork County Final chess competition held in the Éire Óg GAA Hall in Ovens yesterday. Our senior team came in second place just two points behind the winners: a great effort from everyone!

Tá an-áthas orainn comhairle Mac Léinn nua a cheapadh. ‘Cairde na Mac Léinn’ an t-ainm atá ar ár gcomhairle. Tá an comhairle déanta suas de pháistí ó Rang a 4 go 6 a bhí curtha ar aghaidh ag a ranganna féin. Beidh siad gnóthach ag cabhrú le gnéithe eagsúla de shaol na scoile.
We are delighted to appoint our new student council. Cairde Mac Léinn is the name of our council. The council is comprised of students from 4th to 6th class who were nominated and voted in by their own class. They will be busy helping with various aspects of day to day school life.

Turas go UCC/Trip to UCC
Tugadh cuireadh do cheathrar ón scoil dul go UCC Dé Céadaoin seo chaite chun ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar comóradh 10 mbliana ó bhronnadh Brat glas ar an ollscoil. Chuaigh ionadaithe ón gCoiste Glas agus Cairde na Mac Léinn go dtí an ocáid. Ba í UCC an chéad ollscoil ar domhan a fuair an aitheantas seo. Fuaireamar cuairt timpeall an campas agus ghlacamar pháirt i gceardalann éagsula bunaithe ar an timpeallacht. Bhí lá iontach againn! Four students from the School were invited to UCC last Wednesday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of being awarded their Green Flag. Four representatives from Cairde na Scoile and the Green Flag committee attended the event. UCC were the first University in the world to be awarded a Green Flag. March 2017 - Engineering in a Box - Rang 4
‘Engineering in a Box’ is a new initiative whereby engineering skills are taught to primary school pupils with help from STEAM Education Ltd., engineering companies and University College Cork. To take part in the scheme, schools must obtain sponsorship from a company. John Paul Construction, Little Island have kindly agreed to sponsor Gaelscoil Uí Drisceoil. For the next ten weeks two engineers from John Paul Construction will endeavour to give pupils of both fourth classes an introduction to the skills of engineering.

The Christmas Market on the 4th December was a great success. €10,500 was collected for the school. We are very grateful to all who supported the event.

Comhgairdeas le Malachaí a bhuaidh Gradam Litearthachta ag an Oireachtas dá dhráma "Is liomsa na Camáin" an dráma faoi 1916 a léirigh sé lena Rang anuraidh. Congratulations to Múinteoir Malachaí who won a Gradam Litearthachta at the Oireachtas for the play he wrote "Is liomsa na Camáin" as part of the 1916 commemeration. |
